Position reports to: Chief Development Officer

Role overview: All planning and environmental permits required to ensure the construction and operation of the EV Power and GRID POWER product portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identification and assessment of the planning and environmental feasibility of land for EV Power and GRID POWER projects
  • Preparation and management of the planning application process for an EV Power and GRID POWER product portfolio
  • Preparation and submission of EIA screening and scoping requests to Local Authorities
  • Procurement and management of planning and environmental technical supply chain required to deliver the live development pipeline
  • Discharge of planning conditions and submission and securing of planning amendments
  • Where applicable, support the drafting and execution of S106 Agreements
  • Management of the completion of other planning and environmental consents required for EV Power and GRID POWER projects
  • Identification and management of permits for EV Power and GRID POWER projects including ecological, highways and drainage requirements
  • Management of public and stakeholder consultation specific to a planning application, in collaboration with the Group’s marketing department
  • Provide commercially astute and technically informed planning advice as and when required on the Group’s product portfolio
  • Working with development, design and engineering services to ensure planning applications reflect EV Power and GRID POWER product requirements
  • In conjunction with the CDO, recruit and manage planning and environmental personnel to best support the management of required permits
  • Assist in other related duties as and when requested by GRIDSERVE Executive Team
  • To be the Company spokesperson on permitting matters, contributing to industry debate and policy formulation
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes including anti-bribery policy and Environmental and Quality Management System (compliant with ISO 9001 and 14001)

Skills/ Experience Required:

  • Chartered Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute with 5+ post qualification experience
  • Degree or higher degree level qualifications in a related discipline
  • Excellent working knowledge and understanding of the planning and environmental process applicable to the GRIDSERVE product portfolio
  • Commercial acumen, proven through successful project budgetary management
  • Highly self-motivated with an ability to define and adapt project targets to ultimately get projects delivered
  • High accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong IT skills (including Microsoft packages)
  • Excellent written and broader communication skills
  • Proactive approach to finding solutions
  • Excellent organisational skills, with a proven ability to successfully multi-task
  • Ability to build relationships with key stakeholders across different levels in and out of the organisation
  • Proven ability to nurture client and supplier relationships
  • Ability to be realistic and solutions focused
