PRIMARY EMPLOYMENT OBJECTIVES 

  • Work as part of a team to develop SOFC systems 
  • Test and analysis of SOFC subsystems 
  • Operate and maintain essential lab equipment  

SPECIFIC ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Work closely with colleagues on the development and production of solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) systems and subcomponents 

  • Design and conduct short- and long-term testing on SOFC subsystems including fuel cell stacks, reformers, de-sulfurizers and gas composition analysis 

  • Assume technical responsibility for chemical analytical equipment including Gas Chromatograph and Mass/IR Spectrometer 

  • Perform mass and energy balances to aid product design and development 

  • Develop process flow diagrams and piping & instrumentation diagrams 

  • This position combines designing experiments, data & analytical analysis, report writing and data presentations 

 KNOWLEDGE, SKILL & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS 

  • Bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering (required)  

  • Advanced degree in Chemical (or similar) Engineering (preferred)  

  • 2-5 years of work experience  

  • Strong understanding of reaction engineering and chemical thermodynamics 

  • Strong interest in designing and running experiments 

  • Prior experience with hydrocarbon fuel reforming systems (preferred) 

  • Prior experience with the operation of analytical equipment including gas chromatograph and mass spectrometer (preferred) 

  • Aptitude for documentation and data analysis 

  • Aptitude for hands-on experimental work
